The Digital Leap Imperative
AASA, The School Superintendents Association, CoSN (Consortium for School Networking), and NSBA (National School Boards Association) have formed a powerful partnership to share and create our collective knowledge, resources, and networks to help school system leaders inform and strengthen their digital advocacy.
To empower K-12 superintendents, district technology leaders, and school boards to strengthen their digital advocacy and lead a digital leap.
What is the “Digital Leap”?
Many teachers, principals and schools across America have made considerable progress in using technology to transform learning. School districts are also making the digital leap from small pockets of innovation to systemic transformation.
However, the problem remains: few school systems have found a way to create a digitally-enabled ecosystem that is continuously improving.
The “digital leap” is providing a technology-based learning environment for ALL children, regardless of the schools they attend. The importance – and need – to expand learning horizons through technology is proven, heightening discussion on the “how” versus the “why.”
Now is the time for bold, thoughtful, and scalable approaches that leverage digital tools in ways that personalize learning. When we realize that digital platforms pique student interest and expand teaching and learning opportunities, we set the stage for greater achievement and enable students to become college, career, and life ready.
